Balochistan sports festival concludes

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Mohammad Khan Achakzai and Commander of Southern Command Lt Gen Mohammad Naseer Janjua urged youths on Monday to play their role in the development and prosperity of the country by adopting positive thinking and good behaviour. They said security situation in the province was improving because of efforts being jointly made by security forces and the government.

They were speaking at the concluding ceremony of the week-long Balochistan Sports Festival organised at the Nawab Bugti Stadium in connection with the Pakistan Day celebrations.

The governor said that by taking part in the sports festival the youths of Balochistan had given a massage that they supported healthy activities.

He said players from Balochistan had the ability to represent the country at any international sport event.

He loaded efforts of the Balochistan government for the promotion of sports, culture and extra-curriculum activities in the province.

Lt Gen Janjua said law and order situation in Balochistan was improving and now people would move toward progress and development.

He said the armed forces of the country would never hesitate in rendering sacrifices for the people of Balochistan and would take whatever measures needed for the elimination of terrorism from the country.

He urged youths to spread the message of love and peace, saying that they could play an effective role for the development of the province.

Lt Gen Janjua called upon angry youths of the province to understand dirty games of the country’s enemies. He urged them to become part of the mainstream for the betterment of the nation.

The governor and the commander gave away prizes to players for their distinguished performance in different events during the sports festival.

Minister for Sports Mir Mujeebur Rehman Mohammad Hasni, Minister for S&GAD Nawab Mohammad Khan Shahwani, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chattah, senior civil and military officers and a large number of people attended the ceremony.
