A break is important

THIS is regarding the story “A break is important” by Asra Arshad (YW, March 28, 2015). The message in the story was very strong, about most school children taking on a lot of stress to study and therefore end up spending all their time in studying. They don’t realise that extra-curricular activities are also very important in their growing up period. Taking their studies too seriously could wear off one’s mind and result in poor performance due to fatigue.

I am a 12 years old student and have many friends who study like the boy Ali in the story and the result they achieve is also the same. I would like to advise all the parents to encourage their children to balance their time between extra-curricular activities and studies rather than pushing them to study only.

The world’s greatest magicians

THIS is regarding the cover story “The world’s greatest magicians” compiled by Ambreen Arshad (YW, March 28, 2015). Magic has always fascinated everyone but people don’t know much about the great legends of magic.

The article was a treat to read. I regularly read “Spotlight” and “Weekly weird” sections and YW has always kept its work up to our expectations.

True happiness

THIS is with reference to the story “True happiness” by Shamsa Hafeez (YW, April 4, 2015). The story enphasises on the fact that one should be content with whatever s/he has because the greed for wealth can never be satisfied. Instead, we should assist the poor in every walk of life to bring a smile to their faces.

Plagiarism

THIS is with reference to the letter “Plagiarism” by Mahira Aziz (YW, April 4, 2015). The letter opened my eyes and I regret to say that I was one of the kids who would take writings by other people and often give my name to it.

I was never told that it is a wrong act so after reading this letter I am now cautious and promise to myself that I will not do it again. I am thankful to Mahira for this.

Excellence made easy

THIS is regarding the cover story “Excellence made easy” by Umaima Amin (YW March 14, 2015). I am a regular reader of YW.

Currently, I am busy in exam preparation, but when the magazine arrived I couldn’t resist and had a quick glance on it.

The cover story tempted me to read it and it provided me with very useful information and I am really thankful to the writer for writing such a timely article.

True world

THIS is with reference to the story “The true world” by Tuyyab Anwar (YW, April 4, 2015). The story imparted the message that real beauty lies in nature. Our routine makes us so exhausted that we forget the real essence of a peaceful life.

Though technology makes our life very easy, we should not forget everything else in its pursuit.

Vineet Kumar, Hyderabad
