Reformed militants set free in Bajaur

KHAR: About 29 former militants were set free after completing vocational training at Navi Saha -- an internment centre in Bajaur Agency.

A ceremony to this effect was held here the other day on the premises of the institute attended by Bajaur political agent Mohammad Yaha Akhunzada, Commandant Bajaur Scouts Col Mir Amir Ali and senior officials of security forces and local administration.

On the occasion, Amir Ali said different vocational skills were imparted to the former militants during the 10-week-long training. He said peace and government writ were fully restored across the agency as the force had eliminated militants in the region.

Yaha Akhunzada hoped that the graduates would play a vital role in keeping peace in their respective areas.

The former militants on the occasion took oath that they would live peacefully and won’t take part in any anti-social and anti-government activities in future. They also vowed to support the security forces and the administration in keeping writ of the government in the region.
