Sugar mill sealed for default in Okara

OKARA: The district administration, on the orders of the Lahore High Court (LHC), sealed the Abdullah Sugar Mills for defaulting on Rs400 million growers’ dues and taxes, said a handout issued by the district officials.

District Coordination Officer Kaiser Saleem after receiving court orders made a committee, consisting of Deepalpur Assistant Commisioner Asif Rauf Khan and district officers of enterprises, food department, excise and taxation, industries and labour.

The team with police sealed the mills and forfeited 456 sugar bags stored in the godown.

It aded the auction of the mills attached property would be held after the completion of the legal procedures.
