Hyarbyar Marri, 32 others indicted in Ziarat residency attack case
QUETTA: An Anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Sunday indicted exiled Baloch leader Hyarbyar Marri and 32 others for attacking Quaid-i-Azam’s residency in Ziarat in June 2013.
ATC judge Nauroz Khan Hoot has also ordered witnesses to appear before the court in the next hearing. Others accused in the case include Amanullah, Abdul Khaliq, and Aminullah.
Quaid’s Ziarat residency, where he spent the last days of his life, was bombed by unknown attackers on June 15, 2013. The assailants had hurled hand grenades at the building, completely destroying some portions of the monument. Baloch Liberation Army, a separatist militant group in Balochistan, had claimed the attack.

Federal and provincial governments had taken serious notice of the attack, ordering security forces to take swift action against the culprits.
Frontier Corps and police have since claimed to have arrested miscreants behind the attack, saying that they belonged to a banned militant outfit.
In March this year, police claimed to have arrested another accused involved in an attack on the Ziarat Residency of Quaid-i-Azam.
“Pukar Marri, a resident of Spin Tangi area of Shahrag, was wanted by Ziarat police in the Residency attack case,” SSP Aitzaz Ahmed Goraya said at a press conference.
He said that acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Superintendent of Police Sariab Zahoor Babar Afridi raided a compound in Hazar Ganji, an area on the outskirts of Quetta, and arrested the accused.
