PM Nawaz to visit Norway on July 7

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to visit Norway on July 7 upon the invitation of Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg to participate in the Oslo Summit on Education for Development.

This will be the first official visit by a Pakistani leader to Norway in over a decade.

During the visit, PM Nawaz is expected to meet the Education Summit, and is also expected to interact with several world leaders.

The premier is expected to hold delegation-level talks with his Norwegian counterpart. He will also meet His Royal Highness Haakon Magnus, Crown Prince of Norway.

The visit will provide an opportunity to Nawaz to discuss bilateral as well as global and regional issues with the Norwegian leadership.

The premier's visit is expected to strengthen the existing ties between Pakistan and Norway.

PM Nawaz reviews development projects in Murree

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting at Government House in Murree where he reviewed development projects which are currently underway in the hill station.

The meeting reviewed progress on development projects which are underway in Murree as per directives issued by the premier.

Six development projects in Murree have been completed and speedy work on four projects is underway for early completion in line with the development vision of the prime minister.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Nawaz ordered the removal of impediments to the progress of remaining projects. He said that the pace of work should be quick so that people in Murree and tourists from all across the country can enjoy the best facilities.

PM Nawaz directed that no laxity should be witnessed in the restoration of grandeur to Murree.

The six completed projects include upgradation of the general bus stand, modernisation of the sanitation and waste management systems, restoration of roads, and upgrade of Bansra Gali Forest Park and water supply.

The projects which are currently underway include the restoration of Murree's general post office to its original condition, the creation of the Murree Arts Council Cinema, an improved traffic management system, and a clean-up of the city.

German envoy pays farewell visit to PM Nawaz

Germany's Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Cyril Nunn paid a farewell visit to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at PM House today.

PM Nawaz appreciated the active role played by German envoy in improving bilateral ties between the two countries. He also recalled his visit to Germany and constructive discussions with German Chancellor Ms Angela Merkel.

He also appreciated the German trade and economic delegation's visit to Pakistan which will contribute to the country's development.

The premier reiterated that eliminating of terrorism and resolving energy issues are Pakistan's top priority. Furthermore, he wished the ambassador well for his future assignments.
