Be careful in choosing your friends

THIS is regarding the story “Be careful in choosing your friends” by Tanzila Asim (YW, June 13, 2015). The story had a great lesson for children. It is rightly said that you are known by your friends so always choose friends who study, obey their teachers and parents, those who are humble so that you always learn something good from them and develop good habits too. This way you’ll be admired by all.

Ramazan and shopping

IT is sad that instead of having an understanding of the blessed month of Ramazan, people were more concerned about shopping and eating throughout the month. While the month teaches us to be patient and understand what fasting is, how poor suffer with very little food, what we see is that people buy so many items of food for Iftar.

Their purchasing increases and they seem to become more greedy than they were ever. People eat and buy stuff as if there is no tomorrow. It is totally the opposite of what the holy month teaches us. I would like to request all the readers to pay attention to what they are doing and do things in moderation.

Stay hydrated

IT is a very sad fact that more than a thousand people died this summer. The reasons are mainly heat stroke and dehydration. So I would like to request everyone to drink more liquid to stay hydrated throughout the day. And also, stay away from soft drinks as they contain only sugars and there isn’t any healthy ingredient in them.

Many people buy crates of soft drinks and drink at the time of Iftar, which is extremely unhealthy. Instead of soft drinks people should make lassi, milkshakes or home-made juices to stay healthy and hydrated.

Quiz

THIS is regarding the “Quiz” section which is my favourite section in the whole Young World magazine. It is exciting, interesting and most importantly it boosts our knowledge skills.

Also, another great aspect of “Quiz” is that every week the questions are based on a new interesting topic. I love to read it and test my knowledge so I want it to be always there for us.

My father — my guide, my guardian

THIS is with reference to the article “My father — my guide, my guardian” by Arif Iftikhar (YW, June 20, 2015). The article reminded me of my deceased father, who always had wondrous things to tell us.

How we felt so secure with him as if a lifeguard followed us everywhere. And today, when he is not here anymore, the void cannot be filled by anyone. Fathers are special persons in everyone’s life; they cannot be replaced so love and respect them always.

II

THE article “My father — my guide, my guardian” by Arif Iftikhar was very nice. Like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day should be celebrated in a special way, and fathers too should be given respect, love and care throughout their life.
