RAWALPINDI: RCCI for TMA, RCB coordination: Revival of economy

RAWALPINDI, Oct 12: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) president Sohail A. Sethi has said that the commercial activities of the city have slowed down because of a lack of coordination between the Tehsil administration and Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB).

He said this while talking to Tehsil Nazim Raja Hamid Nawaz as the leader of a delegation of Flour Mills Association. The delegation called on the Nazim on Friday and apprised him of the problems being faced by the owners of flour mills.

Members of the delegation said closure of the supply routes and bridges due to repairs might cause shortage of flour in the city.

Therefore, there was urgent need for improving the roads and bridges so that the people could easily get wheat and flour, they added.

The RCCI president said the coordination committee should approve alternative routes so that the commercial activities could continue unabated.

The Tehsil Nazim contended that the issue would be raised during the next meeting of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).
