Players named for badminton camp

LAHORE: The Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) on Monday named men and women players to attend a training camp in Islamabad as part of preparations for the forthcoming home series against China.

The five-match series between the two friendly countries is scheduled to be held in Islamabad in the first week of September. The camp for the said series begins on Tuesday.

It is expected that after the series the camp will continue for the South Asian Games to be held in India in January next year.

The PBF has also appealed to the Pakistan Sports Board to hire a foreign coach till the South Asian Games.

Players named for the camp:

Men: Awais Zahid, Rizwan Azam, Azeem Sarwar, Hafiz Irfan Saeed, Murad Ali, Abdur Rehman, Shabbar Hussain, Kashif Sulehri, Attique.

Women:

Palwasha Bashir, Mahoor Shahzad, Khizra Rasheed, Sara Mohmand, Huma Javed, Ghazala Saddique, Sehar Akram, Sidra Hameed.
