LEA efforts for restoration of peace lauded
KARACHI: Corps Commander Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar has lauded efforts of the Rangers and other law enforcement agencies for the restoration of peace in the city, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations here on Tuesday.
Speaking at a programme held at the Malir Cantonment to pay homage to those who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the country, the corps commander expressed the hope that the law enforcement agencies would bring about peace in the city with the support of the people.
The programme was attended by martyrs’ families, Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, military officials, bureaucrats, diplomats and people from all walks of life.
The corps commander paid homage to the martyrs and reiterated that the armed forces and the nation were always with their families. “We acknowledge the sacrifices of our martyrs and they will always be remembered and their sacrifices will not go to waste,” he said.
Students of various schools presented tableaus to pay tribute to the martyrs. Popular singers also performed at the event.
Lt-Gen Mukhtar also laid a wreath at the Yadgar-i-Shuhda and offered Fateha.
