Pakistani soldier dies in LoC firing

RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan Army soldier lost his life after Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control in Battal sector on Tuesday.

According to an ISPR press release, 20-year-old soldier Shams was a resident of Shanglot village in Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan. Pakistani troops, it said, responded befittingly to the unprovoked Indian firing.

Meanwhile, an Indian army officer claimed that Pakistani troops had initiated the exchange of fire, saying that Indian troops returned fire and that there were no casualties on the Indian side.
