Quetta woman among Haj stampede victims

QUETTA: A woman from Quetta is among the pilgrims who lost their lives in Thursday’s stampede in Mina while her husband was injured.

Muhammad Saleem confirming his mother’s death identified her as Zar Bibi. He told reporters here that his father Muhammad Naseem, an official at the University of Balochistan, had suffered injuries. The family lives near Sirki Road.

Another pilgrim from Quetta city has been missing.

“We have not been able to contact my 60-year-old uncle Abdul Aahad since the incident,” his nephew Gul Muhammad said. He appealed to the authorities concerned to ascertain his uncle’s whereabouts.—Staff Correspondent
