Rawalpindi food outlet owners, city officials meet today

RAWALPINDI: Against the backdrop of the Punjab government’s campaign against unhygienic food outlets, the business leaders have arranged a meeting of their (food outlets) owners and the City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) officials at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on Tuesday.

The district coordination officer (DCO), Sajid Zafar Dall, assistant commissioner, Cantonment, Khalid Goraya and assistant commissioner, City Qurutulain Malik will meet the food outlets owners led by RCCI President Syed Asad Mashadi.

The RCCI president, Syed Asad Mashadi, said the basic aim of the meeting was to create awareness of the cleanliness among the owners.

He said both the local administration and the business community would sit together and end the differences over the clean food drive in the province.

When contacted, DCO Sajid Zafar Dall said the meeting was aimed at informing the business community about the new law of food and government’s requirements for maintaining hygienic condition in food outlets.

He said that the local administration would inform the traders about the fines which had been increased under new law.
