Cheema appointed chairman of FPSC
ISLAMABAD: A senior bureaucrat and former manager of the national cricket team, Naveed Akram Cheema, was appointed on Tuesday the chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), a government organisation which deals with selection and promotion of civil service officers.
President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to Mr Cheema at a ceremony at the Presidency.
Members of the FPSC, secretary of the Establishment Division and senior officers of the President’s Secretariat attended the oath-taking ceremony which was conducted in Urdu.
Mr Cheema has replaced retired Maj-Gen Niaz Muhammad Khan Khattak. He has served on several key positions, including Punjab chief secretary. His last assignment was as the manager of Pakistan cricket team.
