The true spirit
THIS is regarding the cover article “The true spirit” by Yasmin Elahi (YW, September 26, 2015). I liked the article because it is true that these days people spend more money in buying very large cattle to show off to their family and friends.
What is saddening to me is that I hear most people discussing what they are going to cook with the meat instead of remembering the readiness to give the great sacrifice by Prophet Ibrahim to fulfil Allah’s Will. So I think the article was a great reminder of sacrifice and obedience to all of us, as most people tend to think of buying huge animals and freezing the meat for ages!

The article “The true spirit” by Yasmin Elahi was very nicely written and I agree with the writer that we should celebrate Eidul Azha by remembering the great sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and also, we should give larger portions of meat to those who can’t afford to buy it anytime of the year. We should always consider the underprivileged people first.

Cheating is a menace
I WANT to draw the attention of the Education Department of Balochistan and the Government of Pakistan towards a very grave issue — cheating in exams, particularly in Turbat which needs due attention. Cheating is a curse that many students are plagued with. Unfortunately, it is the students who pay bribe to their invigilators and easily get assistance during exams; these students pass with good grades but it is worth nothing as they are still without knowledge.
It is my plea to the government and the concerned authorities to ban this menace and help the Education Department of Balochistan in providing quality education to the students.
Apart from that, teachers should also play their part in discouraging students who don’t study and prefer cheating; they should pay more attention to these students and encourage them to study. And teachers, plus concerned authorities, should be very strict during exams so that no student gets a chance to cheat and take very harsh action against those caught cheating.

Ali and the cat
THIS is regarding the story “Ali and the cat” by Sofia Nasir (YW, September 19, 2015). The story was a true dipiction of most kids who treat animals mischievously and also made me realise that animals also have rights and they should be respected and loved.
We must not hurt animals as they also feel pain like we do and always be kind and caring with animals.
