World Squash Day celebrated

KARACHI: The Sindh Squash Association (SSA) celebrated the World Squash Day by staging competition for youth at the PSB National Coaching Centre courts on Saturday.

Hammas Tarar won the boys under-19 title by getting the better of Talha Alam 11-9, 12-10, 9-11, 11-6.

The boys’ under-15 title went to Rafi Khan who carved out 11-7, 3-11, 11-6, 11-8 victory over Osama Zafar.

Madina Zafar, meanwhile, captured the girls’ under-19 crown defeating Noor-ul-Huda 11-4, 11-4, 11-2.

Squash legend Jahangir Khan, who graced the occasion, gave away the prizes.

The SSA officials Tahir Khan­zada and Rashid Ahmad were also present on the occasion.

Results:

Girls under-19: Madina Zafar bt Noor-ul-Huda 11-4, 11-4, 11-2

Boys under-15: Rafi Khan bt Osama Zafar 11-7, 3-11, 11-6, 11-8

Boys under-19: Hammas Tar­a­r bt Talha Alam 11-9, 12-10, 9-11, 11-6.
