Javeria stars as Pakistan cruise to victory over West Indies

Javeria Khan top-scored with 90 as Pakistan Women cruised to a six-wicket win over West Indies in the first ODI at St Lucia.

Pakistan, coming off the back of a ODI and T20 series sweep of Bangladesh at home, never looked troubled chasing 223 and Javeria's patient 131-ball knock comfortably guided them home.

Sana Mir's side had earlier bowled brilliantly to restrict the hosts before Stafanie Taylor's side upped the ante, scoring 66 off the last 75 balls. Britney Cooper (37 off 40 balls) and Stacy-Ann King (20 off 26 balls) did the late damage after Merissa Aguilleira's 83-ball 67.

Sania Khan, Anam Amin, Bismah Maroof and Nida Dar picked up two wicket a piece for Pakistan.

The visitors responded well with the bat with Javeria and Marina Iqbal putting on a 54-run opening stand in 83 balls.

Javeria stuck in for partnerships with Maroof (21) and Nain Abidi (31) and when she was eventually dismissed in the 41st over, Pakistan had already scored 182. Nida Dar and Mir sealed guided the visitors to victory with 11 balls to spare.

Pakistan will play three more ODIs and three T20s on its tour of the West Indies.
