Pakistan rejects terrorism in all forms: Khawaja Asif
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pakistani nation rejects and denounces terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations.
He was speaking at the 6th Xiangshan Forum on the issue of Regional Terrorism: Roots and Solutions, says a press release received from China on Saturday.
“As a nation, our message and intent is very clear. We reject and denounce terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations. Zarb-i-Azb along with different operations conducted from time to time by our armed forces is testament to the fact that people of Pakistan reject terrorism,” he said.
Xiangshan Forum, established in China in 2006, is a platform for security and defence dialogues. This year the forum discusses security trends in Asia-Pacific Region, security concepts in Asia, maritime security and ideas on anti-terrorism.
He said terrorism had a local, regional as well as trans-regional impact and outreach. “Today, due to globalisation, we witness spillover effects of conflicts from neighbours to regions and beyond.”
