Saudi cadet found dead

ISLAMABAD: A Saudi national was found dead in a room at a guest house on Saturday, police said.

Fawad Mushan, a cadet at Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, had come to the capital along with a friend a few days ago and was staying in the guest house at G-7/4. His friend, Yazid bin Hassan, also a Saudi national, was staying in a separate room.

When Mushan did not come out until late in the morning on Saturday, Hassan tried to enter his room but found the door locked from inside, the police said.

After his knocks at the door remained unanswered, Hassan informed the guest house management. Later, the friend entered the room with the help of the staff and found Mushan dead.

He then took him to a hospital where doctors confirmed his death, the police said. The police and Saudi embassy officials were informed who reached the hospital.

The body was later shifted to the Federal Government Services Hospital. A Saudi diplomat asked the police and the hospital management to keep the body in the morgue until the arrival of the deceased’s family.

The police said there were neither marks of injury on the body nor any signs of resistance in the room.

“The Saudi diplomat turned down our request for an autopsy saying the family of the deceased will take a decision in this regard,” the police added.
