KARACHI: A 13-year-old boy was killed when a kite string cut his throat in Liaquatabad on Sunday, police and hospital officials said. Mohibul Hasan died in the presence of his parents.

Supermarket SHO Javed Sikander said that the boy was riding a motorcycle with his parents when a kite string flying from unknown direction cut his throat. The incident occurred near Dakkhana.

He was taken to hospital but died because of excessive bleeding. The incident took place at around 4pm.

An official at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital said that the boy was brought there dead. He added that his throat was slit.
