Traders receive extortion calls

RAWALPINDI: Two auto spare part traders in Saddar have received extortion demands from unidentified people.Both traders have been given 15 days to pay Rs20 million each.

The police said one of the traders complained about a call he received on his phone from someone who identified himself as ‘Khalifa’.

The caller warned him of dire consequences if he did not pay the demanded sum. A similar call was made to another trader.

According to police sources, several traders in the city have received extortion calls in the past few months. The police have been unable to track down the callers.
