Lawyers now require seven-year practice for SC enrollment

LAHORE: Pakistan Bar Council, the top regularity body of lawyers in the country, has shortened minimum length of legal practice required earlier for enrollment as an advocate of Supreme Court from 10 to seven years.

A general house of the bar approved reduction in the experience limit while passing a resolution, unanimously moved by a member, Ramzan Chaudhry.

The bar’s executive committee has already recommended seven years of legal practice as minimum criteria for lawyers of the SC.

Mr Chaudhry believes that the step would help encourage young lawyers.
