KARACHI: Flaws in Police Order discussed

KARACHI, Oct 30: A meeting of the high-powered committee of the Sindh cabinet set up in connection with the Police Order-2002, met here on Thursday with the adviser on home affairs Aftab Ahmed Shaikh in the chair.

The committee had an indepth study of the Police Order-2002 and discussed the existing laws which remained unchanged in the light of the Police Order.

After examining various clauses of the order, it was decided that committee members would prepare draft amendments and submit the same at the next meeting for further discussion and prepare a unified draft in this regard.

It was decided that the committee will hold its meetings every Thursday for an expeditious finalization of the matters.

The meeting was attended by senior minister Syed Sardar Ahmed, planning minister, Shoaib Bukhari, education minister, Irfanullah Marwat and minister for inter-provincial coordination, Nadir Akmal Leghari besides home secretary, Syed Anwar Hyder.—APP
