KHAIRPUR : Six employees held over corruption

KHAIRPUR, Oct 31: The anti-corruption police, Khairpur, have arrested six government employees, on charges of wrongfully drawing house purchase loan.

Three different cases were registered against the headmistress, Government Girls High School, Nighat Sultana; a clerk of the education department, Zahid Pathan; and clerks of the Government Girls High School, Rafiq Mahessar and Abdul Rasheed.

The anti-corruption police have also detained two sub- accounts clerks, Rafiq Siyal and Ghulam Qadir Bhatti.

The accused have been charged with drawing house purchase loans from the district accounts office, Khairpur, in the names of different lady teachers.

The district accounts officer, Mushtaq Ali Abro, has been suspended for passing illegal bills.

SUSPENDED: The additional district officer (Elementary), Thari Mirwah, suspended 11 absent teachers during his surprise visit to various schools of the Thari Mirwah Taluka on Friday.

The suspended teachers are Kheer Mohammad, Gul Mohammad Jogi, Abdul Karim, Mohammad Yaqoob, Mumtaz Ahmed Baloch, Iqbal Hussain Mangi, Ameer Hussain, Qutubuddin, Mohammad Rahib, Altaf Hussain and Qasir Hussain.
