Three ‘militants’ killed in Turbat gunbattle

QUETTA: Three suspected militants were killed in a clash with security forces during a search operation in Turbat area of Kech district on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Frontier Corps said the troops had conducted the operation in Darachko area near Turbat after receiving intelligence report about the presence of militants there.

The suspects hiding in the area opened fire when the FC personnel stared the search. The troops returned fire.

The spokesman claimed that during the exchange of fire which continued for several hours, three militants were killed.


18 ‘Afghan terrorists’ arrested in Chagai


Security forces also found a large quantity of arms and ammunition in the militants’ hideout.

Meanwhile, Frontier Corps arrested 14 suspected Afghan militants in Bar Aab area of Chagai district on late Monday night. They were allegedly involved in an attack on an FC checkpost near the Afghan border a few months ago.

The FC spokesman claimed that the militants had crossed into Pakistan from Afghanistan to carry out terrorist attacks.

FC personnel also arrested four Afghan militants in Girdi area of Dalbandin. They were involved in attacks on security forces and killing of Levies personnel in the area, the spokesman said.
