SUKKUR: Crackdown on bandits begins

SUKKUR, Nov 2: During an anti-bandit operation launched on Saturday, the police claimed to have set ablaze at least 20 hideouts of dacoits.

When police along with an Armoured Personnel Carrier entered the Bugti area, some dacoits opened fire upon the police. The latter retaliated.

Later, police set ablaze at least 20 houses, which it believed to be the hideouts of dacoits.

It may be mentioned here that after launching of the operation against outlaws on the Sindh-Balochistan border, dacoits have intensified their attacks on various police check posts to hinder the police operation.

PICKET ATTACKED: On Saturday night, some dacoits fired two rockets on the Khadim police picket in the limits of the Bahoo Khoso police station. They also opened fire on the picket.

The police retaliated a result the dacoits fled.

TWO HELD: Two alleged outlaws were arrested in a raid conducted by a strong contingent of police, led by the TPO, Thal, near RD-44, situated on the Sindh-Balochistan border, on Saturday.

The police after cordoning off the village of Banglani, near RD-44, started a house-to-house search and arrested Shah Bux Banglani and Himmath Ali Banglani. They recovered two Kalashnikovs, a shotgun and ammunition from their possession.
