PESHAWAR, Nov 5: The Northern Telecommunication Region-1 (NTR-1) of the Pakistan Telecommunication raised over Rs3bn revenue during the 2002-03 financial year, surpassing the target it had been set for the same period, officials told Dawn.
NTR-1 — responsible to take care of PTCL’s interest in the areas previously falling under the now abandoned administrative units of Peshawar division, Mardan division, Malakand division and Federally Administered Tribal Areas’ Khyber agency, Mohmand agency, Bajaur agency and the Frontier Regions of Peshawar — had been set a target of Rs2.96bn for the 2002-03 financial year.
The Rs3.051bn collected by the NTR-1 surpassed the target by Rs91m. It happens to be an all-time high annual revenue generated during 10 years.
During the first three months of the current financial year, NTR-1 raised over Rs810m revenue against the target of Rs789m.
