ISLAMABAD: Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, senior judge of the Supreme Court, would be sworn in as acting chief justice of Pakistan on Thursday.

Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali would leave for Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah and in his absence Justice Nisar would discharge duties as acting chief justice.

The oath-taking ceremony would be held in the Supreme Court building.
