UTP found dead in Hyderabad juvenile prison

HYDERABAD: A young undertrial prisoner facing the charges of murdering his parents and three sisters was found dead in a barrack toilet at the juvenile prison on Sunday, officials at the Baldia police station said.

They said that teenage UTP, Shahrukh Khan, son of Akram Yousufzai, used a piece of cloth to hang himself from the ceiling of the toilet.

Jail staff reported the incident to the administration, which shifted the body to a hospital for a post-mortem examination under the supervision of a magistrate.

According to an FIR registered at the Market police station, Shahrukh killed his father Akram Yousufzai, mother Shagufta Yousufzai and sisters Insha, Wareesha and Zilhish in Sarfaraz Colony in 2012.

Baldia police registered an FIR of the UTP’s suspected suicide and started an investigation. The body was handed over to the grand mother and paternal uncle of the prisoner.
