Swimming ban at Seaview on Valentine’s Day

KARACHI: The home ministry has imposed a ‘complete ban’ on swimming at the Seaview beach on Sunday to protect lives on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.

Referring to the city commissioner’s request to impose the ban under Section 144 of the criminal procedure code, a notification issued by the Sindh government on Friday stated that a large number of people, especially youngsters, would gather at the beach in Clifton for recreational purposes.

As most people would also swim or go close to high tides, putting their lives in danger, the provincial government imposed a complete ban on swimming at Seaview, Clifton, for the day “to ensure safety of public lives and health”, it said.

The area police have been authorised to register complaints against violators of the ban.
