BNP-Awami not to compromise on Balochistan’s rights, says leader

KHUZDAR: Senator Mir Israrullah Zehri, president of the Balochistan National Party-Awami (BNP-A), has said that his party will never compromise on the rights of the people of Balochistan.

Addressing workers via telephone in Khuzdar on Monday, he claimed that BNP-A was the only political force that had taken up important issues of the province on all forums, including parliament.

“Our party’s motto is to serve the Baloch and the people of Balochistan,” Senator Zehri said, adding that his party represented the people of the province in and outside the parliament and would continue to struggle for the rights that were denied to them by successive governments.

He said that BNP-Awami workers believed in democracy and democratic institutions. “The party has always given guidance to party workers and people whenever they faced difficulties.”

Mr Zehri condemned violence against Baloch students allegedly by the Islami Jamiat Tulaba in Punjab University and called for steps to prevent such incidents in the future.

“It is right of students from all four provinces to study at any educational institution in the country,” he said, adding that the Punjab government should take notice of the incident.
