Army clinch national clay shooting

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army won the first nine-day National Clay Shooting Championship held at Jhelum.

Five teams from Army, Navy, Sindh, Punjab and Federal Rifle Associations participated in the competition which witnessed a high standard of shooting from all 38 participants.

A total of three matches in trap, skeet and double trap shooting were held with Army’s Zafar-Ul-Haq, Abu Bakr and Amir winning gold medals in trap, skeet and double trap, respectively, in individual matches

Army teams won gold in all the three matches with shooters of Army securing six gold, three silver and two bronze medals to win the championship while Pakistan Navy stood second, winning three silver and a bronze medal.

The Federal Rifle Association grabbed third spot with two bronze medals followed by the Sindh Rifle Association winning a bronze medal.
