Pakistan to host Asian Kabaddi Championship
TAXILA: The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) in collaboration with POF Sports Control Board under the banner of the Asian Kabaddi Federation is organising the third Asian Kabaddi Championship at Wah Cantonment from April 27.
President of the POF Sports Control Board Dr Amir Murad flanked by PKF general secretary Rana Mohammad Sarwar while addressing a press conference at POF guest house on Thursday, said India, Iran, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Afghanistan and defending champions Pakistan will vie for the trophy.
He said that foolproof security would be provided to the participating teams.
Dr Murad further said that Pakistan national women cricket team’s player Aliya Riaz also belonged to Wah.
General secretary of the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation Rana Mohammad Sarwar while talking to Dawn said the main reason behind conducting the event in POF was safe, secure and conducive environment.
Retired Col Inamullah Khan, vice-president of the PKF, and Asad Durrani, secretary of the POF Sports Control Board, were also present on the occasion.
