Gwadar: water shortage
GWADAR is the trade hub of Balochistan. It faces water crisis, which is increasing day by day. Ankara dam, the only source of water supply, was built in 1993, but owing to less seasonal rains for a long period of time, it has dried up. Yet no concrete steps have been taken to overcome this problem.
According to the city’s deputy commissioner, water is being supplied by tankers. The affluent people buy water, while the rest of the population can’t afford it.
I request the authorities concerned to resolve the water crisis in Gwadar on a priority basis.
