LARKANA: Sindh Pakistan Peoples Party general secretary Taj Haider, who was in Garhi Khuda Bukhsh Bhutto to attend the public meeting on the 37th death anniversary of the party’s founder chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, was rushed to the Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Monday after he felt out of breath.

CMCH registrar at the cardiology section Dr Ashok told Dawn in the evening that Mr Haider had trouble breathing at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto and was taken to hospital for an examination and treatment.

He said Mr Haider, who had already undergone a cardiac bypass, was cleared of any heart problem when examined on Monday. However, a chest specialist was called in to diagnose the actual problem, he added.

Dr Ashok said the specialist prescribed certain medicines during the patient’s one-and-a-half-hour stay at the cardiology section. Mr Haider was allowed to leave the hospital and travel to Karachi after taking rest overnight, he added.
