‘Uninvited’ MPs make a scene at Sheikhupura passport office

SHEIKHUPURA: Four PML-N legislators along with their supporters on Saturday made a scene at the inauguration ceremony of the regional passport office.

Reports said Federal Minister Rana Tanvir Husain of PML-N was invited to open the passport office. The minister was accorded a rousing welcome by PML-N activists led by Amjad Nazeer Butt and MPA Arif Khan Sandhila.

In the meantime, MNAs Javed Latif and Sardar Irfan Dogar, MPAs Sajjad Haider Gujjar and Faizan Khalid Virk of PML-N along with their supporters forcibly entered the office and had a scuffle with the group led by the minister.

The ‘attackers’ were of the view that they had not been invited to the event. During the clash, a door of the office was damaged while a number of invitees sustained injuries. However, the minister intervened in the issue and normalised the situation.

Later, talking to the media, Rana Tanvir expressed his dismay over the situation and said discipline and tolerance should be observed by politicians and workers.

He said the PML-N government would continue to provide maximum facilities to the people without any discrimination.
