Body of drowned man handed over to India
SIALKOT: Senior officials of Punjab Rangers handed over on Sunday the body of an Indian national to the neighbouring country’s Border Security Force (BSF) at the Patoli checkpost on the Sialkot Working Boundary.
According to District Coordination Officer (DCO) Dr Asif Tufail, local people had found the body in River Chenab near Head Marala.
The DCO said the BSF had alerted the Rangers about drowning of Noraj Dogar in the river on Friday.
The Head Marala police retrieved the body and handed it over to the Rangers.
BSF officials thanked the Rangers. They said Mr Dogar, 30, had been swept away while swimming.
Also on Sunday, a company commanders’ meeting was held between the Punjab Rangers and the BSF on the ‘Zero Line’ near Brahman Bila post.
