2 witnesses in Benazir murder case summoned
RAWALPINDI: The prosecution in the Benazir Bhutto murder case filed an application in an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad for examining two of its own witnesses before the closing of evidence in the case, which the court accepted.
On Wednesday, the ATC took up the application filed by the prosecution which asked for cross-examining two key witnesses, Inspector Kashif Riaz and Assistant Director at the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Mohammad Shoaib, both of whom had recorded their statements in the court in September of last year.
According to the prosecution, the witnesses had changed their statements which could benefit the accused persons and in order to make their statements effective, the prosecution had filed an application for their reappearance.
