Nine hurt in Swabi cylinder blast

SWABI: Nine members of a family were injured in a gas cylinder blast in Marghuz village here on Thursday.

Local people said that family members of Sher Ghulam were present near the kitchen when the gas cylinder exploded.

Police said that it seemed that the gas cylinder was leaked.

The injured were identified as Azhar Khan, Yaseen Khan, Sher Ghulam, Talha Khan, Yehya Khan, Sher Ghulan’s wife, his two daughters and one nephew.

The entire kitchen and cooking pots were destroyed by the blast. No one knew what had happened because the house was enveloped in smoke and dust, eyewitness said.

Two of the nine injured are stated to be in serious condition. The injured were taken to Peshawar after giving first aid to them in Bacha Khan Medical Complex Shahmansoor.

Police said that it was second incident of its nature in the district during the last five months.
