Alicia Vikander to play Lara Croft in Tomb Raider reboot

Alicia Vikander will take over as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, Warner Bros. Pictures confirms.

The studio also confirms that production and filming is ‘on the fast track’ for the project, which will be directed by Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug.

The Jolie-led Tomb Raider movies premiered in 2001 and 2003, earning over $400 million together. The movie, which will be directed by Roar Uthaug (whose last film was action movie The Wave), will star Vikander as a young and untested Croft, is what described as an origin story that tracks Croft’s first adventure.

Based on the long-running video game franchise, Tomb Raider follows the English archaeologist Lara Croft through a series of adventures heavily inspired by Indiana Jones.

Uncle Grandpa is ending production!

If you are a fan of Uncle Grandpa, then this news will come as a shock to you because Cartoon Network isn’t picking up new episodes of Uncle Grandpa, but rather ending production on the series, a source with knowledge of the production told Cartoon Brew. Created by Peter Browngardt, the surreal show follows the adventures of a man on a quest to help those around him. Adam DeVine, Mark Hamill, and Eric Bauza all provide voices.

Uncle Grandpa will run through season five, split into 26 episodes each, half the number of first season’s 52 episodes. In the meantime, production is said to be ending at the end of the current season, meaning season five may be the last one for Uncle Grandpa.
