HYDERABAD: Benazir, Nawaz to return soon: PML-N
HYDERABAD, Nov 21: The provincial leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-N and president Shehri Mahaz, Sultan Shaikh advocate has said the days are not far when the genuine leaders of the country, Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto, would return to the country and would be given a warm welcome by 150 million people of the country.
He was speaking to party workers at his residence after Friday prayers. The party activists raised slogans against the arrest of PML-N and ARD president Makhdoom Javed Hashmi and continued detention of Asif Ali Zardari.
Mr Shaikh said the days of the military rulers were numbered. He demanded that Javed Hashmi, Asif Ali Zardari and all other political prisoners should be released before Eid.
adabi sangat: The elections of the Sindhi Adabi Sangat are scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on Dec 14.
The contest for the post of secretary general will be between Dr Zulfiqar Siyal and Taj Joyo.
Both Sikandar Magsi and Mashooq Dharejo have filed their nomination papers for the post of treasurer, and Nabi Bux Premi and Ibrahim Kharal for the post of joint secretary.
Scrutiny of nomination forms will be held on Friday, while the final list of candidates will be issued on Saturday.
EXAMS: The controller of examinations, University of Sindh, on Thursday notified that the last date for submitting forms for LLB examinations had been extended with a late fee of Rs500 up to Nov 24.
Meanwhile, the controller of examinations, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, announced forms for annual examinations of HSC-I and II could be submitted up to Jan 15 and Dec 18 respectively.
The controller said incomplete forms would be sent back to principals of colleges concerned which were to be submitted again at his office in one week, failing which a late fee would be charged.
Candidates coming from other boards were asked to submit their original eligibility certificates, to be obtained from the Hyderabad BISE.
