BHC orders action against officials: Abduction case

QUETTA, Nov 21: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court has directed the provincial law secretary and SSP Quetta to take action, under the law, against the district attorney and police officials for not conducting proper investigation in an abduction case of a girl.

The bench, comprising Chief Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani, here on Thursday disposed of the appeal which the abducted girl had filed after she had managed to escape.

The court was moved to take action against the concerned police officials as she had nominated the accused abductors, but the police was reluctant to arrest them.

The appellant submitted that the accused had abducted her from Quetta and took her to various places, however, she managed to escape from the abductors, but the police officials were reluctant to apprehend the nominated accused.

The bench asked the law secretary and the SSP to submit a report in the chamber.

The court directed the SSP Quetta to take action against the investigation officers for not initiating proper investigation.

The judges remarked that district attorney also remained careless in pinpointing the flaws in the investigation report of the inquiry officers asking the law secretary to take action against him.
