Quetta Gladiators plan to play Peshawar Zalmi in England this summer

Quetta Gladiators plan to play a couple of T20 matches against Peshawar Zalmi in England during the national side's tour of British Isles later this summer.

Gladiators' owner, Nadeem Omar, told DawnNews that he wishes to organise the matches to promote the franchise and Pakistan Super League (PSL), as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) allows franchises to hold three promotional events in an year.

"Players like Luke Wright and Kevin Pietersen are also expected to be available for the matches," Omar told.

Peshawar Zalmi's owner Javed Afridi has welcomed Omar's offer.

Talking to DawnNews Afridi said, "I have already asked our coach Mohammad Akram to plan for these matches. We have enormous support in the UK and I hope the crowds there will enjoy the contests."

The Gladiator's owner also expressed his desire to invite the foreign players to participate in promotional matches in Quetta and Peshawar in future.

Despite being the runner-ups, Gladiators put up a phenomenal show in the inaugural edition of PSL earlier this year. They won seven out of their 10 matches.
