Nintendo plans movies based on its games

Nintendo is planning to break into movies in a big way, Nintendo CEO and president Tatsumi Kimishima has revealed. This could mean big screen adventures for Mario, Zelda, Star Fox and many more iconic video game franchises.

Kimishima has also revealed his hopes that Nintendo will produce all future film projects. “We want to do as much as we can by ourselves,” he tells Japan’s The Asahi Shimbun.“I can’t say, ‘It’ll be Mario” — just that we’ll do things that people will be familiar with.”

He also hopes the company will launch the film projects within the next five years and that they’re likely to be either 3D animation or anime.

Disney Theme Park may have robots!

Children around the globe dream of going to Disney World to meet their favourite cartoon heroes. But the company is working on technology that could one day see employees inside character costumes replaced with state-of-the-art robots.

The new robot is capable of mimicking a human’s motions with such precision that it can even thread a needle, according to the reports. It is a type of telepresence robot, which is remote controlled by a nearby human. This latest machine uses a new hybrid air and water hydraulics system that allows its arms to more closely mirror the movement of its operator.

It also provides near-instantaneous physical feedback, allowing for finer control. The technology is being developed by Disney Research, an international network of research labs.
