Police devise Eid security plan for Mingora

MINGORA: The police have devised a security plan to secure worship and public places in Mingora city during Eidul Fitr.

According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, the security plan was chalked out at a meeting called by SDPO Mingora city Habibullah Khan and attended by SHOs of Mingora, Banr and Rahimabad police stations.

The meeting decided to cancel Eid leaves of all the policemen to ensure foolproof security of people, particularly tourists coming from other parts of the country during the Eid days.

While the police personnel would remain on duty round the clock to tackle any unpleasant situation an ample increase has been made in the night police patrol in Mingora and other important spots, according to the press release.

Policemen have been assigned special duties at bus stands, mosques, Eid prayer spots and other public spaces.

SHOs of all the three police stations of Mingora were directed to ensure presence at mosques and Eid prayers spots, and patrol all its sectors.

All the exit and entrance points of Mingora city will be properly monitored with extra police force. “Lady police constables will also be deployed at various locations to keep an eye on suspected women in the city while personnel of special police force, elite force, police commandoes and FC will also perform duty during the Eid holidays,” the release stated.

SDPO Habibuallah, while speaking to media persons said that as Mingora city was entry point to the entire Swat valley, a proper security plan had been put in place to ensure that no suspected element entered the district.

“We have already deployed a good number of policemen at the shopping centres in the city,” he said, directing police officials to keep an eye on suspected elements and ensure public safety at all cost.
