KARACHI: Pakistan's number one tennis player, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, made it to the quarterfinal stage of Wimbledon's mixed doubles' event on Wednesday after a comprehensive straight sets victory.

Aisam, who is partnering with Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova, beat the British duo of Neal Skupski and Anna Smith by 6-3 and 6-4.

The third round contest, predominated by the Pak-Kazakhstan duo, lasted for 1 hour and 4 minutes. It saw them serve 5 aces, two more than their opposing team.

Aisam and Shvedova bagged 61 points in total with just 1 unforced error, two less than Skupski and Smith.
