Pakistan announces 11-man squad for three-day contest against Sussex

BRIGHTON/HOVE: Pakistan on Thursday announced its 11-member squad for tour's second first-class game against Sussex.

The management opted to retain the same batting line-up that featured in the first three-day game against Somerset earlier this week.

However, there are three changes in the bowling department, with only right-arm medium-fast Sohail Khan retaining his spot.

Fast bowlers Mohammad Amir and Rahat Ali will make way for Wahab Riaz and Imran Khan, while in the spin department, left-arm orthodox Zulfiqar Baber will replace leg-spinner Yasir Shah.

Pakistan Head Coach Mickey Arthur while announcing the squad said: “We had a pretty decent outing against Somerset. I expect everyone shall maintain and improve on standards on display at Taunton in batting, bowling and fielding.

“We have to keep up with the benchmarks we have achieved so far, with the same intensity. Slacking off at any point would not be acceptable,” he said.

Pakistan arrived on British shores last month and began the tour with a two-week-long training camp at Hampshire to acclimatise to the English conditions.

Pakistan faces off against the hosts in four Tests, five One-Day Internationals, and a Twenty20 International within the said sequence from July 14.

Pakistan's squad for the three-day contest against Sussex: Mohammad Hafeez, Shan Masood, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed (wicket-keeper), Wahab Riaz, Sohail Khan, Zulfiqar Babar, Imran Khan.
