Movies to watch this summer

This is regarding the cover article “Movies to watch this summer” by Talat Naz” (YW, May 28). I really enjoyed the article as it had my favourite content such as the upcoming animated and superhero movies.

I liked the preview of X-Men and I am looking forward to watching it. Apart from that, I humbly thank the YW team for giving amazing information to its readers. I think YW should carry an article for kids every six months about the up coming movies.

Birds with beautiful hairdos

This is regarding the cover article “Birds with beautiful hairdos” compiled by Benazir Raz (YW, June 25). It was a fascinating read because the pictures were so amazing and yes, hilarious as well.

Birds are underestimated for their beauty in feathers and incredible attributes. I appreciate the writer for compiling such amazing information for YW readers.

II

The article “Birds with beautiful hairdos” compiled by Benazir Raz was very interesting. It is nice to read about these beautiful creatures and I would like to suggest to the writer and the YW team to carry articles like this on marine and wild animals also as that would add to the knowledge of the readers.

Making the most of vacations

This is regarding “Making the most of vacations”, a well-written article by Yasmin Elahi (YW, June 4). The tips given in the article for making vacations interesting and worthwhile were really helpful and simple.

After months of going to school and studies, vacations come for a short time, at least from students’ point of view. Maintaining a balance is, therefore, needed first for doing more things in a short time. Reading good books, improving writing skills and learning something new, are good practical suggestions for spending vacation time well.

However, suggestions of going out for cycling and playing outdoors with friends, though proper, they seem somewhat impractical keeping in view that open spaces are becoming fewer in cities.

This is one of the reasons why not only most children but people of all age groups are spending more time glued to their video games, iPads, computers, cellphones and television sets. The present trends of reducing open spaces in many cities need to change, not only for interesting and worthwhile activities but for a better urban environment too.
