Junior tennis squad off to New Delhi
ISLAMABAD: A five-member squad consisting of emerging junior tennis players from Pakistan left for India the other day on a training tour to New Delhi.
According to press release issued here, the team of junior players, including a female, during the tour will receive training and coaching at the Khanna Tennis Academy in the Indian capital.
The invitation for training was extended by president of the Asian Tennis Federation Anil Khanna to the patron of the Pakistan Tennis Federation and senior vice-president of the Asian Tennis Federation Syed Dilawar Abbas and Islamabad Tennis Association president Tariq Mahmood Murtaza.
Under Khanna, the Delhi Tennis Association has made arrangements for training and lodging of Pakistan’s junior players at the Khanna Tennis Academy.
The step has been taken to develop cooperation between the tennis federations of the two neighbouring countries as well as to ensure their representation at global stage.
