ABBOTTABAD: Girl students secured nine of the top 10 positions in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) annual examinations held under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Abbottabad, as the results were announced here on Sunday at the board auditorium.

Overall top position was obtained by Eman Aslam of Peace Group of Schools, Mansehra, by getting 977 marks. Ehzaz Ashraf of Govt Akhtar Nawaz Shaheed College Khala Butt Township, Haripur, secured 976 marks and Syeda Misbah Noor of Pakistan International Public School and Girls College, Abbottabad, 974 marks and clinched the second and third position, respectively.

Prof Jehanzeb Khan, controller of examinations, announced the results and said that a total of 31,420 students appeared in the exams of which 21,238 were declared pass.

Boys outclass girls in Malakand board exams

In computer/general science group, Summiya Javed of Tameer-i-Watan College, Abbottabad, got first position with 952 marks, while Farah Jameel of Khyber Public College, Mansehra, and Samra Fida of Mansehra Public College secured second and third position by getting 915 and 885 marks, respectively.

In humanities group, Hamma Fida of Noor College, Mansehra, got first position with 873 marks, while Sidra and Sadia Wali of Govt Girls Degree College No 1, Mansehra, obtained the second and third position by getting 865 and 851 marks, respectively.

MINGORA: Girl students grabbed two of the top three positions as the BISE Saidu Sharif, Swat, announced the FA/FSC results here on Sunday.

Rukhsar Khan of Swat Public School and College, Mingora, clinched the first position in the board by obtaining 1,023 marks. Masroor Anwar of Government Degree College, Mingora, got second position by scoring 1,018 marks while Saba Rukh of Swat Public School and College secured third position by obtaining 1,012 marks.

Talking to Dawn, the first position holder Rukhsar Khan attributed her success to her hard work and prayers of her parents.

“Actually proper study means to start study from the first day. It does not mean to study hard only in days closer to the exams,” she said, adding that hard work coupled with her parents’ encouragement placed her on the top.

“My success is not only mine but it is equally of my parents and teachers,” said Saba Rukh.

Overall 17,232 candidates appeared in the part-II exams of which 13,488 were declared successful with overall pass percentage of 78 per cent.

In computer science group, Asma Khan of Swat College of Science and Technology got first position by scoring 877 marks, Fazal Manan of Government College Totalai, Buner, second by obtaining 851 marks and Gulpanra of Swat College of Science got third position by scoring 835 marks.

In humanities group, Kalsoom of Government Degree College Saidu Sharif was placed first by obtaining 884 marks, Sheema and Zainab Khan of Government Girls College, Kanju, were placed second and third after obtaining 873 and 869 marks, respectively.

TIMERGARA: Boys outclassed girl students in the HSSC annual examinations conducted by the BISE, Malakand Chakdara.

Islamia Model School and College (IMSC), Timergara, clinched 14 of the top 20 positions. Yasarul Mulk of Allama Iqbal Model School and College, Upper Dir, clinched the top position in the board by securing 994 marks. Usmanullah of the IMSC stood second with 991 marks while Amir Shed of the same college got 990 marks and bagged third position in the board.

Controller of examinations Prof Jamil Ahmad announced the results during a function held at the board auditorium. In part-II results, 15,050 of 20,266 students passed the examinations with the overall pass percentage of 74.26 per cent.

Provincial finance minister Muzaffar Said and board chairman Prof Shaukat Ali also spoke on the occasion and congratulated the position-holder students.
